IFA South Shore
Background
Galway Rovers FC has announced a merger with Intercontinental Football Academy of New England (IFA), a rapidly growing premier club in the region. As part of the merger, Galway Rovers FC will be rebranded as IFA South Shore.
The merger aims to provide a stronger support structure for Galway Rovers FC, allowing its players and teams to compete at higher levels, with new pathways to leagues such as MLS NEXT and NAL. Additionally, the partnership is expected to offer the club’s staff enhanced coaching and administrative support.
IFA South Shore will maintain its current league participation, club structure, teams, management, and coaching staff while incorporating advancements from IFA. The club will continue to operate from its existing home fields at Cohasset Sports Complex and Hingham Union Street fields.
Key changes resulting from the merger include expanded opportunities for player development and new uniforms. Both organizations note that their similar philosophies should facilitate a smooth transition for current Galway players and staff.
