Hanover United FC

Background

Hanover United Football Club (“FC”) is a relatively smaller club soccer programs based in Hanover, Mass – on the south shore. Though small they have a very strong reputation and a first class coaching staff.

Like most clubs they aim to build strong kids both on and off the soccer field and teach them, what they call, the four basic pillars of soccer: technical, tactical, physical, and psychological. They teach the game of soccer in a fun and enjoyable environment which instills self-esteem and an increased skill set.

The club program of Hanover United (not a town program here) provides an opportunity to play year round at a higher level of competition with access to more experienced coaching and skills. There are tryouts and cuts as this is not for everyone: it takes commitment and perseverance to make the club and fit on an age-appropriate team.

Hanover United FC plays in NSL (Northeast Soccer League). Games are on Sundays and they normally practice a couple of times a week.

Club Composition

Their Fall season (including winter indoor soccer training) runs from September – March and may include nine games of so. The Spring Season is April – May (~ seven games); this schedule is bit tighter and condensed than the typical club soccer program in Massachusetts but results in a very competitive club fee of $875 (inclusive of ball, uniform and jacket).

Once last item about the Hanover United club as it relates the to the overall club.

They highly encourage the kids (as well as all others associated with the club) to involve themselves in the community for volunteer time and/or offer donations; a fantastic initiative that teaches the kids to help those who may be less fortunate than them while also instilling upon them the compassion for others. The program is called Kids-with-a-GOAL; all who participate are grateful for the gentle push by the club!

No April fools here. Hanover United’s Academy offers free soccer clinics in April; here instructors from both Hanover United Club Soccer and Soccer Academy will be on site for all the clinics to work on age appropriate skills for parents who are looking to further the development of their child’s soccer abilities. These are held at Myrtle field, on Myrtle Street in Hanover.

Club Training

Hanover United has a unique programs designed for kids who have tried out for the club but are not quite ready to make the grade; they call it Club Training. These kids can practice three time a week with the club players allowing them to enhance their soccer skills. Though if you were a parent of a kid who MADE the team you would want to expose your child to a higher level of experience to challenge, motivate, and teach.

Soccer Academy

And yes, Hanover United has a soccer Academy; the focus is on skill development, fun, and camaraderie with the goal of making available professional instructors at a cost effective price to continue your child’s development in the game of soccer.
